Transformers:Dark of the Moon – One small step for Bay, one giant leap for Autobots

The latest installment of the Transformers series is definitely a two-thumbs up for the autobot fans. Optimus Prime shines in this movie and with a more highlighted role in the film, this robot definitely steals the show along with “bumble bee”, Sam Witwicky’s car/protector.

“Autobots, transform and roll out!” and roll out they do, in the most visually striking ways. I can’t even begin to scratch the surface with this movie. There is good and bad in the film but I think the good by far outweighs the little misplaced dialogues, and length of the movie. We are talking about the best 3D movie this year. In my opinion, you can’t have a stunning 3D experience and expect the plot to be perfect. There were instances when my jaw literally dropped because of the amazing visuals like the highway chase between the autobots and decepticons! unforgettable!

The autobots have clearly outshined the human cast in this movie. Shia La Beouf is who he is. However, the chemistry between him and Megan Fox in the last two installments supersedes the stiffness and almost robotic acting by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Ken Jeong is the surprise element in this film and he definitely brings his “hangover” personality into the film for the brief role he has.
I personally expected to see a lot more of Megatron but in this case Sentinel Prime took the baddie spotlight.

Anything that you may find illogical or excessive will eventually lead to the last hour of back to back action sequences that are magnificently breathtaking! I think the fact that the audience gave a standing ovation at the end of the movie speaks volumes about Transformers.

My rating: 4/5
