The concept of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is exactly what the title suggests. You have one shot at life and three friends take it upon themselves to spend three weeks in Spain before one of them gets married, and live it up like never before! They leave all their inhibitions behind and see the world in a new way…
I will leave the “Dil Chahta Hai” comparison to the rest. I did not go into this movie expecting a better version of some other movie; hence I will not compare it to any other movie. I consider Abhay Deol a fine actor and he has shown versatility in his movies. My curiosity peaked after I watched a preview of ZNMD. How does Abhay Deol fare in a romantic comedy/ bromance of sorts? Very well!
The surprise package in the movie was Farhan Akhtar who impresses tremendously with his sense of humor and comic timing. The man directs (other movies), sings, acts and dances! I look forward to seeing more of him on screen. Hrithik Roshan is not entirely at his best in this movie but he certainly is eye candy as usual. There were certain scenes that could have been eliminated like the part after the kiss where Hrithik was shown to be overcome with girly emotions in the car and the expressions he gave were not pleasant… Katrina Kaif as usual should not be expected to do any justice to her lines but she is her usual adorable self. Hrithik and Katrina fail to create on-screen chemistry and they just look awkward together.
I cannot emphasize enough what a duo Farhan and Abhay were and how easy they make it look to play their characters. They provide plenty of laugh out loud moments throughout the movie.
I recommend this movie!
My rating: 4/5 (added star for Farhan’s superb acting skills)
